Just glimpsing, say, a Homestead, Twin/Tone, Rough Trade, Matador or Lookout logo immediately br stanley cup ings to mind bands as diverse as Sebadoh, the Replacements, the Pixies, Guided by Voices, the Fall, Mudhoney, Green Day, Gang Green, the Lyres, the Misfits and a thousand other long-gone and, in a few improbable cases, still-thriving acts.Then there was Greg Ginn SST Records. With albums, EPs and singles from bands like Black Flag, the Minutemen, Soundgarden, the Meat Puppets, Sonic Youth and the mighty, indispensable Huuml ker Duuml;, SST was arguably the most influential indie label of them all.Now, the main man behind so many of SST greatest records mdash; a musician, producer and engineer who goes by the name Spot mdash; has a new release of his own: a book of photographs, Sounds of Two Eyes Opening Sinecure .The book is not a traditional memoir chronicling the author admittedly ske stanley cup tchy memories of the good old/bad old days thank god , but a collection of pictures from the late 1960s through the early 1980s. Protestors arrived in dozens of buses and lined up front of heavily armed police.We cannot survive on poverty wages. We need our wages to be increased and we need a union to have protection in the workplace and take care of our families, 25-year-old McDonald employee Jessica Davis told TIME. She makes an hourly salary of $8.98 an hour. McDonald is my only job.
