Nobx Milton school to create unique outdoor learning spaces
By 2023, all Ontario students in Grades 1 to 3 will learn about First Nation, M茅tis and Inuit history, culture and contributions as part of the province mandatory social studies curriculum.Education Minister Stephen Lecce announced the new curriculum at Native Child and Family Services of Toronto聽on Sept. 29, the eve of Canada first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. He was joined by Joanne Meyer, chief operating officer of the M茅tis Nation of Ontario; James Marsden, Anishinabek Nation Southeast Regional deputy grand council chief; traditional knowledge keeper Vivian Roy; and聽Indigenous Affairs Minister Greg Rickford.Today, as we approach the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we continue to work toward acknowledging and addressing past wrongs that are still felt across Indigenous communities in a present way, Lecce said.
