APAN to offer on-line collaboration for exercise planning and tools management. 1959 was spent largely in tools growth work and coaching with the Submarine School at New London. 24 October 1950 and commenced training cruises in the Atlantic and Caribbean. Following this operation, Jallao was deployed to the 6th Fleet and departed for the Mediterranean 9 November 1955. Within the months that followed, she helped practice Italian Navy ships and took part in fleet workout routines, beginning the long voyage dwelling in mid-January 1956. The ship steamed through the Suez Canal, visited a number of nations of eastern and southern Africa, and crossed the South Atlantic to participate in exercises with Uruguayan and Brazilian destroyers. In January and February 1955, she took half in fleet workouts in the Caribbean, returning to Norfolk four March. She took half in anti-submarine warfare (ASW) workouts, and through Operation "Straight Laced," a simulated invasion of the Norwegian coast, she operated with British and West German ships. Assigned to Escort Squadron 8, she deployed to European waters on 29 May 1967. After arriving off the Norwegian coast early in June, she operated along the coast of Western Europe during the next month before crusing to hitch the ever ready and powerful ships of the 6th Fleet in the Mediterranean.
