A collection of individually penned essays on periods, groups of poets, forms of poetry, and folks. Crum, Margaret, ed. First-Line Index of English Poetry, 1500-1800, in Manuscripts of the Bodleian Library, Oxford. Manuscripts obtained right after April 1961 are described in Clapinson and Rogers, Summary Catalogue of Post-medieval Western Manuscripts in the Bodleian Library (F300a) major manuscripts are also explained in the "Notable Acquisitions" part of Bodleian Library Record (1938- , 2/yr.). Crum is incorporated into Union First Line Index of English Verse (M2190a). Such disaffection is endemic in modern-day industrial customer societies, which are dehumanizing and dysfunctional. Pt. 1 treats contemporary poetry (since Wyatt), with sections, classified as the subject matter necessitates, on histories and bibliographies, standard reports, seem, rhythm, meter, syntax and grammar, stanza buildings, visible constructions, and the poem in effectiveness. The chapters are variously organized, but each and every has sections for bibliographies, editions, manuscripts and letters, biographical research, and criticism a couple of provide recommendations for further investigation. |
